Why is my age not days divided by 365?

Because leap years add an extra day roughly every four years. Over 40 years that is ten extra days, which is enough to put the answer out by a week and a half.

What if I was born on February 29?

You have a birthday on the calendar only every four years. Most US jurisdictions treat March 1 as the birthday in ordinary years, and that is what this page shows, rolling forward to March 1 whenever February 29 does not exist.

Can I find out how old I was on a past date?
